WOW-EFFECT Theater becomes Lindenberg’s in-house theater group
De Lindenberg opens its doors for amateur theater makers who want to develop their production within the halls of de Lindenberg. Last summer de Lindenberg asked amateur theater makers via different channels to apply for the position of official in-house theater group of de Lindenberg for the season 2017-2018. After a selection period the chosen theater group was the multicultural amateur group WOW-EFFECT Theater.
“One criteria for the selection was the match between the learning goals of the applicant and the available resources of de Lindenberg.”, says Natasja van Geel, program maker of de Lindenberg. De Lindenberg will support the group if needed with workshops on creative writing, directing, acting and music, communication, and with advice for lights and sounds.
WOW-EFFECT Theater is an amateur theater group of Nijmegen that consists of members with different cultural backgrounds and of different age groups. They write and produce English-languaged productions with the goal of connecting people of different backgrounds. In the future WOW-EFFECT aims to reach more “Dutchies” for their audience. Last Thursday they started rehearsals for their new play “The Lost Boy”, about the life of the creator of Peter Pan, James M. Barrie. The play was written by Ronald Gabriel Paolillo and will be produced in special arrangement with Playscripts, Inc.
