A story of old hurt and new ambitions
What remains when biotechnology and morality clash?
In a society where technology and human autonomy are at odds with one another, Brian Henderson, founder and CEO of IMBROGLIO UNLIMITED, sweeps up the world in his vision of an ideal future. His greatest invention? The AE-brain implant that allows its user to access a “new and improved way of life”. Once you provide your full consent, you too can enter the fully immersive world of virtual dating, augmented reality experiences and incredible games!
For Henderson, the way is upwards and onwards. For Richard Lopez, an old friend and Henderson’s biggest political rival, that road is a downward spiral: he wants to prevent Henderson from committing an even larger mistake than the one he made in the past. Freelance journalist Karen Ingebritsen believes that she alone can shield the whole world from both these men.
With ambitious tech-moguls and old-world advocates leading the charge for the betterment of humankind, who will be the advocate for the common people? Where biotechnology and morality collide, what will remain of either?

About the Play
FULL CONSENT is an original play co-written by Céline Thomas and Coco Clements, and directed by Jente Taborsky. The short script ‘Full Consent’ was originally created for the WOW-EFFECT 2040 project, which depicted our interpretation of society in the year 2040 in the form of three short plays. This project was instigated and unfortunately put on hold at the brink of the COVID-19 pandemic. These last two seasons, we’ve been given the opportunity to instead expand on these imagined futures by producing a short-film for HUMAN.V.OID (2022) and this FULL CONSENT theatre production (2023). The third and last of the short plays, HOTEL TRANQUILLE, will hopefully be performed next season (2024).
